We start with how you actually use your eyes — screen hours, driving, reading, sports — plus medical and family history that affects eye health.
Precise measurement of nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia to build an accurate, comfortable prescription.
We check how your eyes work together — a common source of headaches, eye strain, and reading difficulty, especially in children.
Intraocular pressure measurement and slit lamp examination to screen for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye changes. Optional digital retinal imaging is available.
You leave knowing what we found, what it means, and what (if anything) to do next — with your prescription in hand.

Doctor of Optometry
Eye exams at Style Eyes are performed on site by Dr. Tayal, so there is no referral, no second appointment somewhere else, and no gap between your exam and your eyewear. When the exam is done, Master Optician Farshad Nekoui — 25+ years of boutique opticianry — takes over for frame selection, lens design, and a precision fitting.
OHIP covers one comprehensive eye exam per year for Ontario residents under 20, and one exam every 18 months for residents 65 and older. Adults aged 20 to 64 are covered when they have a qualifying medical condition such as diabetes or glaucoma. We handle the OHIP paperwork for you.
Plan for about 30 to 45 minutes. That includes refraction to determine your prescription, binocular vision testing, intraocular pressure measurement, and an eye health assessment with time to review the results with you.
Every year for children and adults 65 and older, and every one to two years for most adults in between. If you wear contact lenses, have diabetes, or have a family history of glaucoma, annual exams are recommended.
Yes. We encourage digital retinal imaging for all patients as part of a thorough eye health assessment. It is not covered by OHIP or most insurance plans and is available for a small additional fee at your appointment.
