Most of the eyewear sold in North America comes from a very small number of manufacturers, which is why so many optical walls look alike. The frames below do not. These are independent eyewear brands we hand-select for our boutique at 468 Brant Street in downtown Burlington.

DITA — Japanese precision

DITA frames are produced in limited runs in Japan using titanium and custom-milled acetate, with hardware finished to a standard usually reserved for watches. Heavier on detail, remarkably light on the face.

Etnia Barcelona — colour as a design language

Spanish house Etnia Barcelona works in Italian acetate and mineral glass lenses, with palettes drawn from art and architecture. If you have ever said "I want something different, but still wearable," this is usually the tray we pull first.

Moscot — New York since 1915

Moscot has been family-run on the Lower East Side for over a century. The LEMTOSH and the MILTZEN are heritage shapes that never really went away — honest, sturdy frames with genuine history behind them.

Cutler and Gross — British hand-making

Every Cutler and Gross frame is hand-made in their Cadore, Italy workshop across dozens of steps, from Italian acetate blocks to final hand polish. Bold profiles, immaculate finishing, unmistakably British attitude.

Blackfin — titanium from the Italian Dolomites

Blackfin works exclusively in pure titanium, machined in-house in Italy. The result is screwless engineering, hypoallergenic material and frames light enough that patients regularly forget they are wearing them — ideal for sensitive skin or strong prescriptions.

Independent frames reward a proper fitting. Handmade acetate and titanium can be shaped precisely to your bridge, temples and ears — something an online order cannot do. With 25+ years as a Master Optician, Farshad Nekoui adjusts every frame in-house, and tune-ups stay complimentary for as long as you own them.
