CUSTOMEYES: Design Your Own Hand-Painted Italian Eyewear

CUSTOMEYES: Design Your Own Hand-Painted Italian Eyewear

Most people choose glasses the same way: pick a frame off the shelf, then pick one of the two or three colours it comes in. CUSTOMEYES was created to replace that experience entirely. It is a luxury eyewear customization concept from Italy built on a simple idea — you should not just choose a pair of glasses, you should design a pair that feels uniquely yours.

Over 1 million possible combinations

The heart of CUSTOMEYES is choice. Frame shapes, colours, patterns, finishes and design details can be combined in more than 1 million possible configurations. Rather than hoping the right frame happens to exist, you build it: the silhouette you suit, the colour you want to be seen in, the finish that matches how you dress.

Hand-painted by Italian artisans

CUSTOMEYES frames are cut from premium Japanese acetate, widely regarded as the finest acetate in the eyewear industry for its depth of colour and stability over years of wear. But the defining step happens in Italy, where each frame is hand-painted by Italian artisans.

Painted acetate is a signature of the brand, not a shortcut. Instead of relying only on standard pre-coloured sheet acetate, painting allows gradients, contrast edges, two-tone fronts and metallic effects that simply cannot be achieved any other way. It is also why no two frames read exactly alike in the light.

Precision-machined components

Traditional craft is paired with modern manufacturing. CUSTOMEYES uses custom CNC-machined hinges milled from solid metal rather than generic stamped hardware, along with exclusive internal cores — called anima — that give the frame its structure and its layered edge colour. A deep library of treatments and finishes sits on top of that engineering.

The result is eyewear that opens and closes with the tolerance of a machined object while looking like something made by hand, because both statements are true.

Closer to bespoke fashion than off-the-rack eyewear

CUSTOMEYES belongs beside made-to-measure tailoring and bespoke leather goods rather than the eyewear wall at a chain store. You are part of the design process, not a customer picking Frame A in Colour 1 or Colour 2. That is exactly the kind of eyewear we love fitting at Style Eyes — glasses chosen deliberately, to be worn every day, for years.

The Atelier concept arrives in Canada

CUSTOMEYES launched its Atelier concept in Canada in 2026, with the world's first Atelier CUSTOMEYES opening in Toronto at Eyes On Sheppard in April 2026. The brand describes the Atelier concept as turning an eyewear purchase into a process of creation, delivered through select retail partners rather than mass distribution.

Designing your own frames in Burlington

Customization is only as good as the fit and the guidance behind it. At Style Eyes on Brant Street, Master Optician Farshad Nekoui works through shape, proportion, colour and lens choice with you before a single combination is locked in — the same care we bring to every frame in the boutique's brand collection, and to our lens and contact lens services.

If you also need a current prescription, we offer comprehensive eye exams in Burlington on site, so your design and your prescription come together in one visit.
